The seedlings that are moving during the night indoors are looking great. The peppers which had their tops removed have started making new branches, as did the tomatoes which got too tall, so I snipped the tops. All of them look good, have nice colors, and are growing fine. Some of the peppers did get sunburns, even through the agrotextile, but the damage is minor, on a couple of leaves and they don’t look like they got too damaged.
The seedlings that are outside 24/7 are also doing great and growing fine. Sugar peas which I’ve sown last week are all sprouting, and soon I should have full containers of peas. The rest of the seedlings are also good. I’m still covering them with agrotextile during the night, although there is no need since morning temperatures are not too low.
Because the seedlings are now outside, I have enough room for new containers indoors. So this week I did a lot of sowing. First I’ve sown some flowers which could go directly to the garden, but usually don’t have time to flower when sown directly. I’ve sown dozens of containers of marigolds, asters, zinnias, dahlias, cornflowers, amaranth, celosia, and calendulas. I still need to sow sunflowers, cosmoses, ipomoeas, and cobeas, which I’ll sow next week.
I’ve also finally sown cucumbers, zucchinis, squashes, and corn. I could have sown corn to the garden, but the bugs love to chew the seeds, so I went with the early sowing to the pots. I went with 3 seeds per cup since the germination rate will probably be poor(as usual with our seeds). If there will be too many plants in the pots, I will transplant them, but probably with this amount, the seedlings will be just fine.
