I haven’t harvested anything since last Friday so today was a good day to harvest. I had a helping paw with me today.
We harvested beans, chard, kale, tomatoes, cucumbers, kohlrabi, and carrots. And then we went to the orchard to harvest apples and plums.
Again I was surprised with the newly grown mint field. It is everywhere. I’ve harvested as much as I could carry home and I’ll probably do some more harvests. This winter we’ll be drinking lots of mint tea.
Srećko wasn’t too impressed with the mint, he found an empty hole he decided to inspect.
My harvest basket was completely full today and with the weather, we’re having I’m really satisfied with the harvests I’m having.
Today’s basket contained enough vegetables to make 4 nice dinners. I’ve already steamed all the vegetables and stored them in the freezer. Honestly next year I’ll sow less kale. I’ve been harvesting so much kale that I can’t really look at it anymore. There’s a limit on how much kale you should eat and I’ve passed mine.
While I was with Srećko picking our vegetables my hubby went mushroom hunting. Boletuses have started growing and in the next couple of days, we’ll be mushroom hunting daily to store mushrooms for winter.
