{"id":401,"date":"2012-06-28T15:31:00","date_gmt":"2012-06-28T15:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rollingdownmygarden.com\/?p=401"},"modified":"2022-06-16T12:24:49","modified_gmt":"2022-06-16T12:24:49","slug":"sour-pickle-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rollingdownmygarden.com\/?p=401","title":{"rendered":"Sour pickle recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Over the years we heard many different recipes for pickles but till now there are only two of them we like and use every year. &#8220;Summer sour pickles&#8221; and &#8220;Winter sour pickles&#8221; we call them like that cause that&#8217;s the time we eat them. So these are recipes for those 2 ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SUMMER SOUR PICKLES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wash medium size pickles, chop the tops of the pickles, and cut them on 4 parts but only till the middle of the pickle.&nbsp;Put them in the jar and add some dill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/c75ea0_31bdd25c0b6340c591d02374f574b063~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_369%2Ch_401%2Cal_c%2Clg_1%2Cq_80\/c75ea0_31bdd25c0b6340c591d02374f574b063~mv2.webp?ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook salty water ( 1 teaspoon of salt on 1,5&nbsp;liters of water)<br>When it boils pour water inside the jar and tap it<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/c75ea0_87165e31d27a419299b24d527005b6c9~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_336%2Ch_406%2Cal_c%2Clg_1%2Cq_80\/c75ea0_87165e31d27a419299b24d527005b6c9~mv2.webp?ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Leave the jar in the sun till pickles and water turn white. Normally it takes 2 &#8211; 3 days, but if you have&nbsp;temperatures&nbsp;over 38\u00b0C (100F ) it takes only one day.Once cooled down they are ready to eat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/c75ea0_4867faa94ded44a5a4383688c017a418~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_402%2Ch_301%2Cal_c%2Clg_1%2Cq_80\/c75ea0_4867faa94ded44a5a4383688c017a418~mv2.webp?ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>WINTER SOUR PICKLES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wash pickles and fill the jars with them. If you use medium pickles for the jars of 780 ml (0. 21 gals) there should be enough space for 2 rows of pickles.<br>Between the rows place some dill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/c75ea0_826b22ee66c1475c815af69a497da20f~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_303%2Ch_404%2Cal_c%2Clg_1%2Cq_80\/c75ea0_826b22ee66c1475c815af69a497da20f~mv2.webp?ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For sour pickles, you should get 2 liters of 3% vinegar. We have 9% in our stores so we get it with 0,5 liters of 9% vinegar and 1,5 liters of water.<br>In the water and vinegar add 3 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of salt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/c75ea0_152dc1a85d2d441d8fc5cc22a87cf8eb~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_402%2Ch_301%2Cal_c%2Clg_1%2Cq_80\/c75ea0_152dc1a85d2d441d8fc5cc22a87cf8eb~mv2.webp?ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Cook till it boils and then pour it over the pickles.<br>Cover the jars and leave them to cool overnight.&nbsp;The next day take a pot and place a kitchen napkin on the bottom and place the jars on top of the napkin. Fill the pot with water but only till 2\/3 of the pickle jar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/c75ea0_14ae042b33964ce38c108f1e4cc6998e~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_325%2Ch_283%2Cal_c%2Clg_1%2Cq_80\/c75ea0_14ae042b33964ce38c108f1e4cc6998e~mv2.webp?ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Place it on the stove and heat it at high temperature till it boils then lower the temperature and cook it for about 30 minutes.<br>Leave it to cool off in the pot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This way pickles can last a whole year without spoiling.<br>This is one jar from last year.
