It has been a hot late summer day for the past 20 days. Every single day the morning temperatures have been around 13\u00b0C(55\u00b0F) and daily temperatures around 33\u00b0C(91\u00b0F), not a single drop of rain and not a single cloud in the sky. Right about a week ago, it started to feel like we’re waking up on the same day every single morning.<\/p>\n

Nature also has the same feeling, everything is standing still, almost feels like it’s hibernating. Nothing is growing and nothing is happening. If it weren’t for the fruit leaves that are slowly starting to turn yellow, there wouldn’t be any sign of the summer’s end. The grass isn’t growing, vegetables aren’t growing, there are no mushrooms or autumn fruits. Everything is standing still.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The situation in my garden is the same. Nothing is moving, everything is as it was in the middle of August. There are no new veggies or newly grown plants, the soil is still completely dry, weeds are hardly visible and there’s actually not much to do in the garden. It’s too hot to start preparing the beds for winter, it’s too dry to sow winter veggies and too early to start digging the beds.<\/p>\n

Beans are at a standstill right now, the old ones stopped flowering, and the new ones aren’t starting to flower. The leaves are healthy, but the plants aren’t producing beans.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Brassicas are still very tiny and suffering. They made heads in a couple of rainy days at the end of August, but they haven’t moved since then. They are desperate for some colder days.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Even the flowers, like Amaranths, are very tiny and are barely flowering. I’m not sure if I’ll have time to collect the seeds.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, the real autumn will start soon or there will be no more veggies this year. <\/p>\n
