It has been really cold and frosty. Almost all of the mornings have been well below 0\u00b0C (32\u00b0F), and daily temperatures refused to rise above 5\u00b0C (41\u00b0F). This kept the soil in the garden completely frozen. The southern part of the yard managed to get some sun and warmth, but still, it hasn&#8217;t been enough. The lettuce seedlings, which I&#8217;ve sown in early October, haven&#8217;t moved at all. They stopped growing and only the agrotextile is keeping them alive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/img\/a\/AVvXsEjvOeVIfJ26Z7iQ7h8qP47n4seYfsG5-7aY5pEyiNxsL_EtYyMlXgUIQ0ioiM6Gn6mgzTRi8DpIlSF2tyhyxRW3GHPzGqUhIU9tx8cQaEuBGwULoPrKreuySTdO24KTrbI99-7qrtFFzhqJ3C9eQjRTw-ckVLU2ObSS4FqlZnqo8_sqmbrIL0IXJgDdsQ=s4000\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" data-original-height=\"3000\" data-original-width=\"4000\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/img\/a\/AVvXsEjvOeVIfJ26Z7iQ7h8qP47n4seYfsG5-7aY5pEyiNxsL_EtYyMlXgUIQ0ioiM6Gn6mgzTRi8DpIlSF2tyhyxRW3GHPzGqUhIU9tx8cQaEuBGwULoPrKreuySTdO24KTrbI99-7qrtFFzhqJ3C9eQjRTw-ckVLU2ObSS4FqlZnqo8_sqmbrIL0IXJgDdsQ=w640-h480\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The vegetable garden, which is on the north, didn&#8217;t even get that minimal heat. Due to the forest and position of the sun, the garden has been covered in frost 90% of the time. The brassicas which I&#8217;ve left in the garden haven&#8217;t been growing. They have been frozen most of the time. Kale won&#8217;t mind, it will actually taste even better after frosty winter, but I&#8217;m not sure the cabbages will survive so much cold. We&#8217;d need at least 2 weeks of warm weather to be able to dig, and that&#8217;s an unlikely scenario.
