 After a very long period of cold, February started with unusually warm weather. What we thought would be a short break from the winter is now turning out to be a whole month of spring weather and temperatures. Mild mornings and full sun days have been warming us throughout the week, and by the looks of it, we’ll be having at least 10 more warm days. <\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

The warmth woke up the first spring flowers. Snowdrops and primroses are starting to add some delicate colorful touches to the brown and grey scenario we’ve been watching for the past couple of months.<\/p>\n

Since there’s a lot of work to be done in the garden and the neighbor’s yard, I decided to start trimming the bushes this week. There’s still plenty of time to trim the orchard, since the orchard is on the north side, which is colder, and the trees will not blossom soon. I’ll probably start timing the orchard next week. Shrubs, on the other hand, are more exposed to the sun and start letting out buds faster than the rest. Forsythias are always the first to start, and they are already showing signs of little buds. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

So during the week, I’ve trimmed most of the bushes in both yards. I don’t have many bushes in mine, just a couple of forsythias, lilac trees, and hibiscus, but in the neighbor’s yard, there are dozens of bushes that need to be trimmed down. <\/p><\/div>\n

The one thing that I didn’t trim is the cypress tree, which is way too tall for me to reach. I’ll do this once I find my telescope branch lopper, which has magically moved who knows where. Since we’ve been working on both basements, I’m having trouble finding my garden tools. Half of them are in the new hubbies basement workshop, and the rest are in my small basement, now I have no idea which half is where and I seem to spend my time in an endless search. Once we finish with the shelves in my small basement, I’ll move all my tools there so there won’t be any more problems like this.<\/p><\/div>\n

Of course, while I was working, Sre\u0107ko was helping all the time. Well, at least he was trying to help. Since he’s getting older he gets tired faster, so after a bit of running, he spends the time just napping next to me. <\/p><\/div>\n

But, no matter how, working or napping, we’re both enjoying this sunny and warm period.<\/div>\n
